Like many modern love stories, ours began online. In early 2019, we connected through Instagram, drawn together by a mutual admiration for each other’s creative work. Our first real meeting followed in early 2020, when Emily was visiting Barcelona on holiday and found herself in need of a tour guide.

One dinner in El Born and several hours of vermouth later, it was clear something was there. Weeks after that first meeting, the world shut down. We spent those few years on opposite sides of the Atlantic, staying close through screens and messages.

In December 2021, we found each other again on a cold winter night in Brooklyn, seeing one another for the first time in nearly two years. It felt like no time had passed. We spent the years that followed building a relationship that stretched between two languages, two cities, and two people who grew more certain with every challenge along the way.

In 2023, we made the decision together: Barcelona would be home. Two years later, over a glass of cava at a vineyard in the heart of Catalunya, Camilo asked Emily to marry him. The rest is what brings you here.
